We are organising an event to disseminate the outcomes of our project ISSUE- Innovative Solutions for SUstainability in Education.
There is a real urgency to the challenges we face: climate change, societal inequity, building back better from COVID-19, and meeting the SDGs. To meet these goals, we need an education system that will equip young people with the knowledge, skills, attributes, and values to create a more just and sustainable future for all. Therefore, this project is timely, particularly given that a recent survey by SOS (Students Organising for Sustainability) International found that 92% of students agree that sustainable development is something which all universities and colleges should actively incorporate and promote, with 40% reporting low or no coverage of sustainable development concept in their course curriculum
The session will appeal to HE lecturers and researchers with an interest in innovative teaching on Sustainability and/or implementing Integrated Reporting in Universities, as well as University sustainability managers.
This is an opportunity to:
1] learn about the tools and outputs of an Erasmus+ ISSUE project Issue Project (issue-project.eu) and how others in Higher Education (HE) might benefit from their use. Please note they are free to use. These tools include how to implement integrated reporting in your university , a handbook of sustainability best practice examples and teaching case studies and a sustainability toolbox development for higher education institutions which includes:
21-Day Challenge training program based on the SDGs
Future Sustainability Managers training program
Green Office Strategy toolkit and guidelines
- Escape Room experience based on SDG topics
2] hear about the work of the Leeds Beckett University’s (LBU) Sustainability Advisory Group, and the LBU approach to sustainability in the 2020s.
3] Pose questions and provide a space to share and learn from participants experiences of sustainability in HE.
T he event is on Mon, 5 July 2021 10:00 – 11:30 BST.
