Dear Colleagues,

We would like to share with you a brief report of a special online symposium organized by IACMR (the International Association for Chinese Management Research).

This timely online symposium is part of the IACMR 2020 conference (which was postponed to June 2021) with the aim to seek an understanding of impact of the global outbreak of the COVID-19 on human well-being, business and the world economy. This symposium also is a demonstration of “responsible research” advocated by RRBM ( and embraced by IACMR (

Professor Zhaoli Song (National University of Singapore) and Professor Wu Liu (The Hong Kong Polytechnic University) organized the special symposium on COVID-19 Outbreak and Management via Zoom on April 11- 14, 2020, with several hundred participants.

The special symposium consisted of six sessions, four in Chinese and two in English. They covered some critical topics and reported research on coronavirus crisis and management. Nineteen scholars presented their papers on organizational management, economy and market, behavioral responses, communication and public policies that were related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Six senior professors served as discussants. They highlighted the authors’ theoretical and practical contributions, and offered suggestions for improving the papers. These studies represented good examples on how academic thinking and analytical tools can be used to address pressing and timely societal problems.

Please visit the webpage ( for more details including links to video recordings of the six sessions. Thank you for your attention!
