I’m excited to share a new job opening at Sentience Institute, a social science think tank researching organizations, technology, and moral progress.
This position offers a lot of flexibility with few requirements other than the production of high-quality research that fits within our general purview. We are open to a variety of social science methods: qualitative (e.g. a case study on GM food companies with analogies to cell-cultured meat companies), quantitative (e.g. an experiment on how information about food technology affects public opinion towards the animal agriculture industry), or mixed methods. We are particularly interested in the moral consideration of animals, the environment, and artificial entities (e.g. robots, virtual assistants). For example, how can organizational problem-solving strategies be applied to the complex moral issues associated with emerging technologies?
The application deadline is July 31st. Please feel free to share with your colleagues and any relevant mailing lists. We know job applications can take a lot of time, and we will do our best to be considerate of your schedule throughout our hiring process.
All the best,
Jacy Reese Anthis
