Dr. Pratima (Tima) Bansal at the Ivey Business School (Western University, London, Canada) is seeking to fill a postdoctoral fellowship in organizational behavior and innovation/creativity for the Ivey Innovation Learning Lab.
The Lab seeks to reimagine the corporate innovation process, so that corporations create value not only for themselves, but create value for society simultaneously. We believe that sustainability can be baked into the corporate innovation process through systems thinking. We have engaged 25 of Canada’s major organizations who are seeking to learn how to do so.
The team presently consists of faculty members (Tima Bansal, Sylvia Grewatsch, Garima Sharma), postdoctoral students (Ju Young Lee, Alice Mascena), and doctoral students (Michelina Aguanno, Valen Boyd). We are looking to fill a skills and knowledge gap at the individual- or teams-level of analysis.
The ideal candidate would exhibit the following:
- Demonstrated ability to conduct high quality research (qualitative or quantitative methods) in creativity or innovation-related research;
- Comfort and credibility writing for and communicating with corporate executives; and
- Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
The candidate’s activities will include collecting company-specific innovation data and writing research-related articles pertaining to the research. S/he will also be mobilizing the research to companies, applying the principles of American Pragmatism to the research process. We are agnostic to the research methods, and welcome applicants with a quantitative or qualitative orientation. The candidate must be able to work with a diverse research team and should be motivated by solving macro-social and environmental issues through corporate actions.
The candidate will join a vibrant research community at the Ivey Business School. There are numerous faculty members engaged in sustainability research and a significant amount of activity related to the Centre for Building Sustainable Value and the Network for Business Sustainability (NBS). The faculty members at Ivey publish in their most rigorous journals, while also seeking to simultaneously impact practice.
Ideally, the candidate would start by January 1, 2022, although there is some flexibility. The position will be for up to 3 years, with a 6-month probationary period and annual reviews.
