Lappeenranta -Lahti University of Technology (LUT University) has an interest to host excellent international researchers who wish to apply for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship 2022 call ( deadline 14 September 2022).

We are currently seeking candidates interested in the following research topics:

  • Ecosystems emergence related to energy transitions
  • Business models change related to energy transition
  • Future and foresight studies in decarbonization and electrification of transportation industries
  • Trust in industry renewal and/or energy transition

Duration: 1-2 years

Included: Salary based on the living, mobility and family allowances and research, training and networking costs and management and indirect costs.

Call for Expression of interest (EoI) Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship 2022 MSCA-PF-2022 – LUT School of Business and Management, Lappeenranta, Finland

Overview and purpose

The objective of this Expressions of Interest (EoI) call is to identify potential international candidates of any nationality to work with us through to submission of a full application to the Marie-Sklodowska Curie European Fellowship scheme in September 2022.

Lappeenranta -Lahti University of Technology (LUT University) has an interest to host excellent international researchers who wish to apply for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship 2022 call (deadline 14 September 2022). LUT University is a pioneering science university in Finland bringing together the fields of science and business since 1969. Our international community is composed of approximately 6 000 students and experts engaged in scientific research and academic education. Clean energy and water, circular economy and sustainable business are the key questions of humankind to which LUT seeks solutions through technology and business.

The LUT School of Business and Management (LBM) combines business, industrial engineering and management, as well as software expertise in a unique way. The focus of both education and research is on building sustainable competitiveness and promoting green technology. In 2021 LBM celebrated its 30th anniversary and it was considered among the world’s top 175 business schools in the Times Higher Education (THE) 2022 business school ranking. In Finland LBM placed second out of the nine business schools and in terms of research citations, LBM the best business school in Finland and one of the top 50 business schools globally.

LBM has a firm commitment to educate responsible professionals in the field of business and management and have an excellent research environment to do so with a cross-disciplinary and highly sustainability-committed community within a university of technology.

MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship is a highly competitive grant. If selected, fellows will receive the MSCA Postdoctoral Grant which covers two years’ salary, research, training and networking costs and management and indirect costs for the hosting institution.

Prospective candidates will work as a part of our Greenrenew research platform, and they receive mentoring from LBM supervisor, colleagues, and administrative support from LUT.

Individual candidates are expected to submit project funding proposals together with prospective supervisor through European Comissions’ Funding and Tenders Portal.

Eligibility criteria for prospective candidates:

Only experienced researchers can apply, and this means that you must:

  • Hold a PhD degree, defined as a successfully defended doctoral thesis, at the time of MSCA 2022 deadline.
  • Have not resided, worked or studies in Finland for more than 12 months in the last three years prior to the MSCA call deadline.
  • Research experience: candidates can have a maximum of 8 years full-time equivalent research experience at the time of call deadline, measured from the date that the researcher was in possession of a doctoral degree and certified by appropriate documents. Career breaks, working outside research, research outside of the EU (for reintegrating researchers) will not be considered.
  • One proposal submitted per candidate is allowed.

You should be able to satisfy most of the following requirements:

Have a good publication track record

Have presented at international research seminars and conferences

Have interest in public engagement knowledge sharing activities.

Hold mobility/international experience.

Please bear in mind that you will be joining the LUT School of Business and Management to develop research and your career at the Greenrenew platform. Greenrenew’s objective is to facilitate the transition to carbon-neutral industry based on renewable energy by creating cost-competitive solutions for key processes needed in the industry renewal. The solutions are enabled by green hydrogen and turning CO2 from a problem to a resource. The platform is multidisciplinary and encompasses the following schools: School of Energy Systems, School of Engineering Science and School of Business and Management, counting with several professors, postdoctoral researchers and PhD students.

Outcomes

You will be notified by 15 May 2022 if your EoI has been identified as one of those to be taken forward to full application and introductions will be made accordingly between yourself and your designated supervisor so that you can work together towards the submission deadline on 12 September 2022 .
