The Linz Institute of Technology (LIT) at the Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for a full-time, permanent professorship position under private law for a Professor for “Management of Socio-Technical Transition” to begin immediately. The appointment is in accordance with § 98 of the Austrian Universities Act. An evaluation will be conducted after a five-year period.

The successful candidate is expected to represent the academic subject area of Management of Socio- Technical Transitions in teaching and research. The subject area empirically and theoretically explores the reciprocity of new technologies and social change against a backdrop of Sustainable Development Goals. In addition to a willingness to take over the institute management at the Linz Institute of Technology (LIT), the successful candidate is also expected to be involved in activities at the JKU Business School. The successful candidate will also be expected to take part in further developing the interdisciplinary specialization: Sustainable Development: Responsible Technologies and Management (JKUsustain) . The JKU considers itself at the cutting edge of initiating and realizing Sustainable Development Goals. In addition to a business management direction of transformation processes on an operational and inter-company level, the successful candidate is expected to be able to connect with technological, legal and sociological issues in an interdisciplinary way. Applicants for the position should possess a solid academic background in social science theory and methods as well as have the ability to think systemically in order to conduct multi-level analyses.
